The Art Institute of Dallas is moving to Gmail!

Art Institute of Dallas Students,

We are excited to announce that The Art Institute of Dallas will soon transition its email platform to Google Apps with Gmail. Your email address will remain the same. With Gmail, you’ll have the ability to access email from any Internet-connected computer, gain additional email storage capacity and take advantage of all of Gmail’s powerful and intuitive features. What's more, Gmail is easy to use, and you’ll find it a more efficient way to manage your email!

Why Did We Choose Google’s Gmail?

Based on The Art Institute of Dallas’ growth and educational needs, we looked for an email solution that could grow with us and provide comprehensive solutions for our students. Some of the key benefits we think you'll enjoy include:

• Increased storage - You get a full 25 GB of online storage for your email, so you can archive all of your email online. You'll no longer need to worry about deleting messages or saving them in offline folders.
  
  
• Enhanced message organization and retrieval - With Gmail, you'll spend less time managing folders and searching for messages. For example, you can add one or more tags, or "labels," to your messages to organize and store them more efficiently. And with the Google-powered search feature, you can find any message quickly and easily, whether it's in your Inbox or stored in your message archive.
  
  
• Google Apps – Gmail is only one service from the suite of online communication and collaboration applications that Google offers through their Google Apps platform. In the coming months, we will have the ability to add calendars, chat and a number of other Google applications that will be directly integrated into your new Gmail account.

What you need to do

You can start using your Gmail account right away. Please take some time to forward any important emails or contacts from your old email account to your new Gmail account and also familiarize yourself with Gmail’s features.

Forwarding Emails:

1. Log in to your old email account by clicking on the “Old Email and Web Space” button on the MyAiCampus Portal
2. Click and open the email you would like to forward
3. Click the Forward button (You have the option of forwarding the mail as an Attachment or Inline Text)
4. Enter your current student email address in the “To” field
5. Click the Send button
