Welcome to Europe. Now go home.

November 24, 2009 through January 15, 2010

In August of 2008 I arrived in Bad Ems, Germany for an artist residency at the Schloss Balmoral, formerly Schloss Diana, where the composer Richard Wagner lived for a time. This was my twelfth year to spend time photographing in Europe.

I usually work at night, often using long time exposures, in pubs and on street corners. I keep an eye out for the odd object, street detritus, the strange portrait, and corridors that lead to unexpected places.

The art journey lasted one year covering 39 cities in Germany, France, England, Holland, Croatia, Bosnia, Scotland, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Italy.

These are some ideas I had along the way.
