AiDallas received many awards at the Texas Restaurant Association (TRA) Food Show, held June 28-30 in Dallas.
Chef Ernst Gruch was the Lead Judge and Chef Larry Matson was also a judge for the culinary ACF-sanctioned competitions. Chef Nina Hunter was the Show Chair.
There was a live "Hot-Food" competition in which contestants were given resources to complete 4 servings of an entrée plate in one hour. There was also a “Cold Salon" competition which consisted of food presented cold: decorated cakes, plated desserts, centerpieces, hot food presented cold and old buffet platters.
AiDallas had several students and faculty participate and earn medals! Bronze medals went to students Maria Freeney (plated desserts) and Amanda Long (plated foods), to alumni Charlie Edwards (hot food cooking) and Rocio Varela (wedding cakes) and to faculty member Steve Pilat (hot food cooking).
Chef Nina Hunter took the silver in her category, sugar centerpieces.
Congratulations to all! Photos can be found in the TRA Show photo album.
