Week of Service
Posted: 04/03/2009
In continuing to promote the EDMC value that excellence in education is measured by practical outcomes that enhance the lives of our students and make important contributions to society, EDMC is pleased to announce a national collaborative initiative in conjunction with the National Week of Service scheduled across the country for April 18-25, 2009.
Each Art Institutes location has been tasked to identify a community service project that students, staff and faculty may contribute to that not only gives back to the communities in which the schools are located, but that tie in nicely to the educational experience of our students. The National Week of Service is an opportunity for each school to identify a community service/volunteerism program that promotes goodwill not only for the organizations we will serve, but for the school as well.
The Art Institute of Dallas has decided on three projects benefiting different aspects of the community. If you are so inclined, you may choose whichever project best fits your schedule and your passion. We will be helping build houses with Habitat for Humanity, cleaning up White Rock Lake, and doing arts and crafts with the children at Bryan’s House.
Dates and Times are as follows:
Habitat for Humanity: Saturday, April 18 from 12pm-4pm (9 spots remaining). DALLAS location. Meet at the building site (information to come).
Friday, April 24 from 7:45am-4pm. (30 spots remaining). PLANO location. Meet at the building site (information to come).
